“I always find that to make a really tasty espresso I’d need to grind my own beans!”. How often have you heard this from sworn coffee geeks? Probably more often than not. If you swear by grinding your own beans then you more likely have had to deal with using airtight containers to prevent your ground beans losing their most treasured aromatic properties because for the most part air is the enemy of good ground coffee. Anyhow, this blog was actually not meant to be about coffee — just had to get that out of the way — but about a running commentary on the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the players, industry outlook and what, who and how we as Jeyfine Wines create value for our loyal customers. But coffee and how it’s made and consumed (at least by coffee geeks) shares some attributes with alcoholic beverages like wine particularly in maintaining “air tight” control from the grinding of grapes to storage and retaining the wines’ “aroma”. To make my own wine then would definitely require more than “I can grind my own grapes”. Top-notch skill, equipment, facilities and — if I want to sell it — a robust distribution network to top it off.

To avoid having customers “grind their own grapes” and possibly indulge in compromised beverages, 10 years ago, Joseph King’ori our CEO saw an opportunity to provide and guarantee quality alcoholic beverages by ensuring that supplies met industry wide standards. To do this, he started Jeyfine Wines Ltd with an import and distribution portfolio of Fine Wines, branded Whiskeys, Spirits, Energy Drinks, Rum, Brandy, Aperitif, Vermouth among others.
He built a brand loyalty and distribution network that catered to a varying clientele from wholesalers, retailers and value-added resellers attracting valued partnerships with suppliers like Pernod Ricard Kenya, Kenya Wines Agencies Limited and Wines of the World. Pernod Ricard later ranked Jeyfine Wines as the top company in Kenya for distribution of its products.
Since then, Jeyfine Wines has continued to forge high-level partnerships with international premium brands Edrington, Heineken, Viva Global, Delmonte, EABL, KWAL and Premier Foods. As a premium distributor in Kenya, Jeyfine Wines has sent representatives for tours of wine distilleries in the UK to observe the production processes and quality control of products we source.
